The Lorca can be downloaded by Bluetooth Help Guide against Gender Violence in four languages (13/01/2009)

The City Council of Women of the Municipality of Lorca, Antonia Lopez, this morning the new initiative has been launched to disseminate the Guide for Help Against Gender Violence, in collaboration with the Institute for Women in the Region of Murcia .

This digital document that tells you how to act and where to go in any situation of abuse, can be downloaded via Bluetooth from the Office of Women or sending an ADA word to 5195 (cost 0.15 cents).

This guide can be downloaded in English, Spanish, Arabic and French.

"We want to use every means at our disposal to help victims of violence out of this situation and so in the coming days we will also visit the mobile classroom of the Autonomous Community to combat sexist attacks," added the councilman.

This action is part of municipal policy in support of these victims, which took place on April 16 last year with the opening of the Centre for the Care of Victims of Violence (CAVI), until December 31 187 women attended .

The Councillor explained that the total attendance done by CAVI team, formed by a social worker, lawyer and psychologist, amounted to 901.

Among the types of abuse, most (76.58%) were physical and psychological, followed by psychological (12.02%) and the physical, psychological and sexual (9.49%).

Antonia Lopez stressed that the Spanish are the majority among the treated (70.84%) followed by Ecuadorians (14.56%) and Moroccan (4.43%).

Also in attendance were women from ten other nationalities (Litunas, Romanian, French, Colombian, Cape Verde, Algeria, Nigeria, Russia, Brazil and Bolivia).

In the age group most of the participants (31.64%) belonged to the age group of 31 ª 40 years, followed by between 41 and 50 (27.21%), and 21 to 30 (21, 51%).

However women also attended more than 70 years (2.53) and less than 20 (5%).

Finally, the woman thanked Councilman local action in the two cases of domestic violence identified by the local police this weekend in the suburbs of San Jose and San Cristobal, encouraging citizens not to stand still when they know this of aggression, immediately notifying the police.
