The City relies on the creation of new jobs through public works of PIMUN '09 to combat the effects of the crisis on unemployment

Unemployment rose during the month of January in 366 people, from 4848-5214 people.

Ibarra is the time to redouble efforts in our common project, not to blame "

Employment Councilwoman City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, has described as "bad news" the rise in unemployment registered in our town during the month of January.

Ibarra said that "the effects of economic crisis are seriously damaging our town, especially in the area of unemployment.

January traditionally is leaving in a few numbers in this sense, positive, and this year the trend, in spite of ours, has not changed.

From City Hall we are working with social partners to mitigate the effects of the severe economic crisis in which we live.

But Lorca does not escape the drop in unemployment nationwide.

As you know our country is experiencing some alarming numbers, located today at 3,327,801 unemployed, a figure ever recorded, representing an annual increase of 47.12% and monthly increase of almost 200,000 people.

Unfortunately, our town is being driven by the decline in employment as well as the destruction of jobs that involves the current economic outlook. "

The Municipality of Lorca spokesman said: "This economic situation requires us to redouble efforts to halt the spread of unemployment.

I do not think it's time to blame, nor to waste time pointing out each other.

We could go to debate who is responsible for this crisis, but now, I truly believe it does not touch, since this crisis we must go out together.

Now is the time to work together as we are acting with the consent of the Local Employment Bureau where we have the support and the opinion of all stakeholders of the municipality to design our common strategy.

To stop the job losses are confident the actions we will carry out within PIMUN '09, which includes an investment of over EUR 50 million in public works, and whose principal objective is the strengthening of the companies in our region , and the resulting increase in employment. "

Regarding the specific data, unemployment has increased in Lorca in a total of 366 people, from 4,848 to 5,214 unemployed.
