The Local Board for the Underground Railroad as it passes through Lorca asked for an urgent meeting of the Tripartite Commission at the Ministry of Public Works (18/03/2009)

Lorca Mayor, representatives of political parties and business come together to raise the need for underground rail line around the village, and the reopening of the Mediterranean corridor rail to transport people and goods, coupled with improvements commuter line and future compatibility with high speed.

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar urgent request at the request of the three municipal groups, Chamber of Commerce and Ceclor, a meeting of the Tripartite Commission of the Underground Railroad as it passes through the city, built by the City Council, the Development Ministry and the Autonomous Community.

This has been one of the agreements reached this morning by the Local Committee for the Underground Railroad, convened by the Mayor and the Councillor for Public Works, Joaquin Ruiz, who has decided that this meeting also involving members of the Board meeting today.

This initiative is intended that the Central Government to meet the Local Government, political parties and business representatives from the Ministry plans for this project, and the point of procedure that are found.

Francisco Jodar has highlighted the consensus among social partners and politicians of the city to defend the underground train is passing through the town and not divide the city, opposite the information which they provided in the Ministry .

The mayor has claimed once again that the funding that is made of this burial is conducted in the same terms as in Cartagena and Murcia, where the Ministry will provide 66% of the cost, 26% Autonomous Region and the City Council 8%, taking into account that in Lorca the potential to generate capital gains are minimal.

Local Railway Bureau has also agreed to request the reopening of the Mediterranean corridor rail line to transport people and goods.

Similarly, demanding the improvement of the commuter rail line serving the town, creating a line Cartagena and Lorca, in addition to its compatibility with high speed.
