Students of the College of San Cristobal and the residents of this neighborhood have a new sports hall which can be used from the beginning of next year (14/05/2009)

The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Councillor for Education of the City of Lorca, José Joaquín Peñarrubia, this morning visited the site of the new school sports hall of St. Kitts and announced that these works, included in the Municipal Investment Plan Consistory Lorca (PIMUN) with funding from the Ministry of Education of the Autonomous Community "may be used by students and residents at the beginning of 2009/10 academic year."

Francisco Jodar said "with this municipal work, which involves an investment of EUR 180,882.47, we comply, once again, to one of our election promises, which respond to neighborhood demands, as this new track will cover school use in the morning and afternoon will be open to the neighbors. "

The sports hall of 490.4 meters squares (24.23 x20, 24), have a track of 405.8 m2 (19.85 x19, 89), as well as a storage and changing of 19.89 x4, 08 meters.

The works, which began in March and is scheduled to end in late June, has already performed the foundation, steel structure, roof and perimeter walls, while they are still pending execution the panel perimeter deck doors , glass windows, interior walls, general paving, downpipes and channels the rainwater drainage, as well as the final treatment facility.
