Tovar and Francisco González visit Jódar infrastructure improvement works in Santo Domingo Lope Gisbert and (07/07/2009)

In total in the municipality will be 50 projects with a budget of more than 15.8 million euros

The Government of Spain has paid 156 million euros in 601 works of the Murcia region involving the creation of 12,394 jobs so far

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jódar Alonso, this morning visited three of the works being undertaken in the municipality under the Local Investment Fund.

One of these works is an urban intervention in the streets Puente La Alberca, Santo Domingo, Lope Gisbert and Principe Alfonso which makes a large improvement of infrastructure in the supply networks, sanitation and lighting, as well as the service pipe as telecommunications and electricity.

The project, with a budget of 1,561,360 euros, also includes new sidewalks and road paving.

Jódar Alonso González Tovar and have also visited the works carried out on the street Admiral Aguilar, which has a budget of EUR 84,154.31, is acquiring the new paving and which is changing supply and sanitation networks .

They have also made a tour of the works that run on the street Abenhalaj, which with an investment of EUR 49,975.41, will provide new and wider sidewalks.

The Government delegate and the mayor have pointed out that Lorca will perform 50 works to be financed entirely by the Local Investment Fund to 15,859,209.20 euros.

These works were selected by the City Council and subsequently approved by the Government Delegation in the first instance, and the then Ministry of Public Administration later.

It was initially planned to create 928 jobs, however, once they have been awarded, the job has increased by 85% to the figure of 1,722 workers, 115 and 1,607 start-up of persons within the successful tenderers.

Tovar Gonzalez recalled that the Government of Spain has already paid the City of Lorca 70% of the 50 works planned, which involved an investment of 10,864,476 euros.

The remaining 30% is paid once will justify the end of work each.

Jódar Alonso has said that thanks to the works visited during the day all citizens will enjoy a street more comfortable, safe and aesthetic.

In fact, the common feature that characterizes these projects is to place the pedestrian as the main character.

Moreover, Gonzalez Tovar reported that to date, the Ministry of Planning Policy has been transferred to 41 municipalities in the region EUR 156,356,916, corresponding to 601 projects have received funding for the 70 percent of the total payment projects.

In this sense, González Tovar explained that since late last June, is beginning to pay the completion of the work of the State Fund in the Region of Murcia.

In particular, Lorca and Santomera municipalities have already received payment of three of its projects.

With regard to jobs created so far, González Tovar explained that already have generated 12,394 direct jobs.

Of these, 3,982 are newly created and 8412 of persons within the successful tenderers.

In this latter regard, the delegate explained that the number of jobs created and financed the works awarded the Local Investment Fund, to date, is much higher than originally planned, so finally it is estimated that the number of posts Work is about 13,000 jobs.

The Government delegate pointed out that the Region of Murcia has been the recipient of 246.3 M € of this fund and once the presentation phase of projects, 673 projects submitted were approved by the 45 municipalities in the region.
