Limusa improve cleanliness of the streets with the acquisition of 7 new vehicles to modernize its fleet with an investment of 284,200 euros (16/07/2009)

Lorca's mayor, Francisco Jodar has reported that the municipal LIMUSA will improve the cleanliness of the streets of our township with the acquisition of 7 new vehicles represent an investment of 284,200 euros.

Company sources have indicated that the benefits of managing for the last year begin to impact directly on the continuous improvement of service by Limusa.

As the current Management pledged last April to the end of the 2008 results, net income, about 440,000 euros, is being earmarked for investment.

The amount of this action amounts to 284,200.00 euros.

On this occasion, Lorca Clean City has seven new vehicles that are built into the machinery, thus leading to the thirty units.

These three vehicles sweepers who are responsible for machining sweeps streets, plazas and pedestrian areas, two tow trucks to work selective collection containers (glass, cardboard and lightweight packaging) and two vans for various kinds of tasks street cleaning, manned elevator ramp for cargo handling.

Limusa intended with these acquisitions, responding to increased public demand for management services provided in the area and street cleaning and waste collection routes to increase cleanliness and more provision of containers scattered throughout urban areas and rural areas.

Will increase just as the presence of automated tasks in urban areas of the main districts of the municipality, where so far carried out the cleanup manually.

The objective pursued thus is an improvement in the automation of cleaning and waste collection and increasing the safety of drivers and operators, a trend already begun this year with the change of uniform, exceeding parameters required by the strictest rules on risk prevention.

Thus, optimizing the service provided in linear meters of street which is serviced and number of containers picked up per shift.

Likewise, it lightens the heavy operations tasks, thanks to the platform lift system in a van to collect furniture and appliances, and radio control system for managing elevacontenedores pen.

It also will modernize 1 in 6 operating fleet vehicles in service work on the streets.

In fact, there are four replacement vehicles from other older, with a load of hours and mileage well above its estimated cost: the two tipper trucks elevacontenedores boom (current is December 1992, a , and that the team will Multilift April 1989), the two tipper vans for road cleaning and included in mass (the current one is November 1992 and the other May 1998) and one of three sweepers, which just serve to 'retire' that performs the tasks of street cleaning in parishes today, and whose owner treasured no less than 16 years of service, as it was registered in May 1993.

Will, therefore, to expand the stock of machinery the other two sweepers carrying capacity of 750 liters for the storage hopper of the waste removed from the street.

These vehicles, in both cases, Piquersa brand, operating through the drive system.

Could highlight the peculiarity that both are able to empty sweeper in height and from the side, allowing it to pour directly on the container.

The entire maneuver is done with sprinkling of water-tank-350 liters to minimize nuisance dust.

The biggest difference from the third sweep is that it has acquired greater hopper capacity of 1,500 liters, and the download is done ahead.

Vehicles used for the replacement of motor vehicles not only come to modernize the cleaning tools, but also add interesting new features.

In both cases we have sought to optimize the service under the security settings of the operations to perform, to ensure minimizing the risks identified in the usual actions of work by the operators.

Thus, the two teams pen for collection have been equipped with a radio control system for maneuvering approach of the crane and lift and dump without needing to go up and down the old platform controls, avoiding the risk of fall for different levels.

One of two Scania trucks available for this service incorporates elements Multilift containers for the collection of large capacity and self-compacting.

In addition, a street cleaning vans, has been equipped with a lift gate for the collection of heavy elements, useful in conducting service and furnishings, a certain weight in certain cases, minimizing risk load handling.

This same vehicle may also provide collection services in mass cardboard door to door in shops and other street cleaning tasks.

The total transaction amounts to EUR 284,200.00, of which have been paid one hundred percent of the bill, in line with two goals: the reversal of the positive results of the financial year 2008 and savings policy financial costs.

Thus, most of the balance of 2008 net profit goes directly to provide more and better services to citizens, and invest in improving the working conditions of workers.

The presidency of this company, whose capital city, the mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and expressed his desire and intention to bring improvements to services provided directly to the benefits generated by the new management and policy of reducing expenditure, which allowed, for now, the renovation of five vehicles, incorporating new security features in the machinery and the acquisition of two new elements scanning, as well as extending services to more mechanized streets and squares as well as districts.

These operations are included in net profit Municipal Cleaning Lorca SA stood at the end of 2008 half a million euros and the investments applicable to 438,315.31 euros, representing an increase of 6.72% of its value added (net sales less net purchases and external services) for 2007.

These results have influenced the policy of cost-cutting side to side.

Similarly, the decrease in trade payables decreased by 445,929.4 euros and other liabilities of EUR 159,999.5 product of that effort in reducing costs without affecting service delivery.

The cost savings in 2008 amounted to EUR 727,577.25, due to the reduction of the initial budget Limusa during exercise.
