The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, visited the work camp Coy, in Lorca, where a group of young people between 18 and 26 years, from different countries in Europe and Asia, participating in cultural promotion programs.
The activities in this field, the oldest of the Region of Murcia, will be held in two shifts, the first from 16 to 30 July and the second from 1 to 15 August.
In the second half of this month involving 22 young people from European and Asian countries such as Spain, Russia, Denmark, Finland and Turkey.
For the first half of August are expected to attend 24 other young people.
Volunteers will organize and set in place social and cultural activities geared to different segments of the population of Coy, as a summer school to teach school support, fair gaming and sports and computer, a music festival, workshops gastronomy and a championship game of cards.
They have also organized activities for leisure, excursions and trips.
Veronica Lopez said that these activities "promote the values of solidarity and respect between young people from different social and geographical realities, as well as raise awareness of the cultural richness of the Murcia Region."
Field Coy work began in the year 1982, when he became the first international work camp in the Region of Murcia.
In its early years, the main activity involved the excavation of the settlement was Argaric, located in the Cerro de las Viñas.
Subsequently there were several editions until 2006, with the main theme of the restoration of facades of Coy.
In 2008, returns to the Coy camp work with a new approach based on the implementation of programs of cultural activities in the locality.
