The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, together with the Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, today made the first stones of the new centers Asprodes (residence) and Apandis (multipurpose) in Lorca, whose construction will be paid for (6,991,773 euros) by the Autonomous Community (900,000), the Ministry of Social Affairs (3,000,000) and social organizations (3,091,773).
The new residence Asprodes Promotion Association (the Poor) is built on the site of Altobordo, the Provincial Government of Puri, and their duration is ten months.
The building has two floors and its construction will create 90 seats, which will join the 220 current residence, located in the same place.
Among the services offered by the new residence include medical, psychological and social, psychomotor, physical, physical education, computer science and occupational therapy.
As for cost, 4,413,112 euros, will be covered by the ministerial contribution for the Plan E, 1,500,000 euros for the company, 2,613,112, and the Community, 300,000 euros.
The new Multipurpose Center Apandis includes Day Care Center, Occupational Center Early Childhood Center and will be built on land donated by the city of Lorca, on the road to La Hoya.
The implementation period is until December 31, 2009, extended to June 30, 2010.
As regards the three centers that includes the building, each has its own offices and other spaces will be shared.
All will be interconnected and 81 parking spaces.
The Day Centre will have capacity for 25 people, all people with intellectual disabilities require support from a third party.
Occupational Center is for 50 users, aged 18 to 64 years with intellectual disabilities who can not access the labor market under normal or protected.
And the Early Childhood Center will have a capacity for 100 children, ages zero to six years of age who have abnormal development or are at risk of suffering.
The cost of this new multipurpose center is 2,578,662 euros, of which the Ministry, through the Plan E, gives 1,500,000 euros, the Autonomous Community Apandis 600,000 and 478,662.
In both events were also also mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, the secretary general of the Ministry, Fernando Mateo, the general directors of People with Disabilities, Marisol Morente, and Senior, Paloma Recio, and holders of Asprodes, Angel Joy, and Apandis, Antonia Garcia.
