The Socialist Group in Lorca, has joined the celebration today of the International Day of Older Persons, a group that gathers Lorca over 13,000 people.
The PSOE, consider it a priority that all authorities develop a model of healthy aging to ensure adequate quality of life for all older people of today and tomorrow.
The Socialists have made special mention of the importance of those seniors who want to remain autonomous, and characters of his life and who contribute their effort, knowledge and experience to the society they belong.
People say they are more active and useful, who wish to participate and claim their right to be present in the political, social, cultural and economic life of the municipality, on an equal footing with other citizens, and a society that really is for all ages.
Therefore, from the claim that the PSOE PP Local Government that the City recognizes this reality and enable appropriate formulas that make the most of the wealth of experience, knowledge and wisdom of these people who are a valuable resource.
Moreover, since the PSOE have recalled that in the 80's was a socialist government who laid the basic foundations of the welfare state established the right to health, education and social protection for all.
This commitment was renewed with the arrival of the central government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who added the guarantee of the rights of the people who need more attention and help, and those of their families, through the Law on personal autonomy and care for people in situations of dependency.
They asked also to the Autonomous Community of Murcia to stop boycotting the implementation of this Act that is a great help to this group.
