The autonomous region supports more than 200,000 euros for two projects of the Municipality of Lorca (06/10/2009)

Lali Ibarra explained that the new initiative "Joker" will ensure access to adequate food for vulnerable households, while the project "Cole-room" would provide grants to ensure proper feeding of children in the same sector society.

The Social Care Councillor of the City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, has announced that the Autonomous Municipal Council has given the Social Services lorquino Consistory of 201.00 euros a grant for the development of two projects that will help families with special needs Lorca on basic food.

Lali Ibarra has shelled the Regional Government will contribute 120,000 euros to the new project "Wild", by which from the Municipal Centre of Social Services technicians will coordinate a program with different companies making and selling food to take in order to provide people or vulnerable families access to adequate food, while supporting those local businesses.

In parallel, it will launch another new initiative called "cole-room project, with monthly stipends to be offered for feeding children with special needs in school canteens.

Specifically, it awarded 100 scholarships valued at 90 euros per month for nine months of the year (October to May), though according to personal circumstances and family beneficiaries may vary throughout the course.

Technicians of Social Work Units will be responsible for detecting and refer cases may participate in these projects, assigning a professional to keep track of the proceedings.

The criteria for preferential access to projects is that the balance between income and monthly expenses of the family is very tight, looking at the position of having to choose between meeting the need for power over other expenses, most minors in the family, spending more on access to housing, the existence of disabled members or dependents in family groups without social coverage (self-employed or who have exhausted) with no history of involvement from social services, among others.
