The Socialist Party calls for the City extreme control over the work of Plan E (16/10/2009)

The Socialist councilor, Mary Ponce, today demanded the government team of PP to "streamline" the work of Plan E, which the government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero funded Lorca "for the benefit of citizens and job creation."

Ponce recalled that the central government has made possible thanks to the efforts of the Spanish, among other issues, Lorca may have significant improvements and new infrastructure "no matter the color of the local government team."

He urged the mayor of the PP, Francisco Jodar, to "steer away from sectarianism" and fulfill its duty to monitor "very closely" to the many works of PLAN E meets the objectives for which they were implemented.

Ponce said it was "shameful" that the neighbors have had to denounce the lack of presence of workers on projects that clearly indicated the number of workers we were going to count.

In the case of the works of the C / Mayor of the District of San Cristobal, the mayor said the project, awarded 715,000 euros, had a provision to create 40 jobs.

In this regard, said that monitoring by the Socialist Party, shows that in recent weeks just 5 workers working there.

Ponce said that this fact is a "scam" with the objectives of Plan E, which are basically "to avert the strike" men and women "who are suffering serious difficulties in their families get ahead."

The socialist council also expressed concern over the slow pace of work on which is the main artery of the Barrio de San Cristóbal, and that in five months, have barely made a rush to one side of the road.

Ponce warned that delays in project implementation will lead to "serious economic harm to the City", since it will be forced to bear the cost of the works if deadlines are not met.

Also stressed "the very serious safety deficiencies" and that pedestrians are being forced to invade the road to roam and get around heavy machinery, ditches and other obstacles.

He also considered that the City must be careful to prevent future damage "collateral", which may occur at the confluence of streets affected by the improvements made, such as unevenness in the pavement that may cause ponding of rainwater, or tripping with fall of pedestrians, lack of connections or improper performance of them in water services, telephone, electricity or gas.

In this sense, the PSOE mayor noted that there are experiences that demonstrate that the PP government team "does not put the five senses" in the works to be executed in the town and pointed to the entrance of rainwater or local housing , recently refurbished streets as José Mouliaá, deficiencies that have not been remedied.
