The Socialist Party claims that after six months from the start of construction in the center of the city has not concluded any stretch (06/11/2009)

Note from PSOE:

The socialist council asked the mayor Isabel Casalduero PP, Francisco Jodar, explaining why some streets are just working and operators works-paced "deplorable."

The Socialist Councillor Isabel Casalduero denounced the "total lack of foresight" of the PP government team in coordinating the refurbishment works affecting several streets of downtown and are financed in full by the Plan E Government of Spain.

The PSOE mayor said that after six months started the works in one of the main arteries of downtown "has not yet been finalized and a single tranche, while new ones have been cut so that the movement of vehicles and pedestrians in this area is "absolutely unrealistic."

In that sense, the mayor specifically thanked the "difficult" work of the staff of the local police to control "this mess", while the agents said, despite having no fault, "are the ones giving citizens face to the bad decisions of politicians. "

Casalduero PP asked the mayor, Francisco Jodar, explaining why some streets are just working and construction workers-paced "deplorable."

In that regard, he recalled that the works of Puente La Alberca, Lope Gisbert, Prince Alfonso and Santo Domingo and its adjacent streets, in which the Government of Spain spends more than five million euros, had a lead time of four to six months and that, today, has not completed any.

Also complained that the PP has not made any effort to minimize inconvenience and contingencies arising from the works.

It also said it has none of the neighbors and they have been surprised "the overnight" with the cutting of new roads, as Musso Valiente, Tinkers Lane, Poet Gimeno Castellar or Santa Clara Avenue, or with reversals in the flow of the streets open to traffic "without any prior information" and causing chaos "unprecedented in the city."

He said that thousands of people the situation is becoming "unsustainable" and said as a fact "very serious" and "collateral" the closing of two dozen shops in the part affected by the remodeling of the downtown.

In this regard, said that it is possible that some of these companies "and was played because of the crisis" but that "fateful" construction management "has been the last straw."

The Socialist councilor explained that this "distorts" the objectives of job creation of Plan E "which is the main concern of the Government of Spain."

Therefore, Casalduero requested the PP government team put on the table that urgent rethink the planning of the works during the time left to finish, and try to facilitate the day to day with neighbors and merchants Lorca area and in general.
