Lorca will host the signing of regional prevention of domestic violence between the Community and the 45 municipalities on 25 November (17/11/2009)

The City Council of Women has announced that the March of the Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will depart at 18:30 from the Plaza Colon and through the streets of downtown to finish with a tribute at the Plaza Calderon women killed this year.

The mayor of Women in the City of Lorca, Antonia Lopez has presented this morning at the campaign press conference of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to be held next Wednesday November 25, 2009, and aims to raise awareness in society with different specific activities that complement the program that annually develops the Department of Women.

New this year include the signature in Lorca by the Social Policy Adviser, Women and Migration in the Autonomous Community, Joaquín Bascuñana, and the mayors of 45 municipalities in the region of the Framework Agreement on Prevention and Action against gender violence between the region and the municipalities of the Region of Murcia on the occasion of the commemoration of this International Day.

The other main event will be the Citizen's March, which will take place between Plaza de Colon and Calderon de la Barca, the same Wednesdays, from 18:30 hours, covering several streets of downtown, and later perform a read a manifesto, a minute's silence for the victims, reading the name of them and placing flowers on a white ribbon.

With the aim of spreading the claim to eliminate violence against women, the municipality has made a communication campaign with the distribution of 300 general campaign posters, 10,000 stickers with white tie, and 1,000 posters and 10,000 brochures up, while alluding banners will be installed to this day.

Antonia Lopez recalled that "this campaign is part of the municipal program for the prevention of gender violence, with talks taking place in women's associations of neighborhoods and districts, in collaboration with the Institute for Women and the CAM, the CAVI service as well as a violence prevention course in the training program of the center of Marble Street. "
