The Minister for Social Policy of the Autonomous Community, Joaquín Bascuñana, Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, and the Director of the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno, have made this morning the first stone of start of construction of the new Care Center Women's de la Calle Cava.
The construction of this new equipment for care and training of women in the town represents an investment of 1,183,200 Euros, which will preserve the historic facade.
The building will be 638.54 m2, distributed over three floors and a basement lowest adapted to accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
The new facilities include an auditorium, multipurpose room, storage room, five offices, waiting room, work area, meeting room and toilets, among other agencies.
This work by Lorca Town Hall, included in the Municipal Investment Plan Consistory Lorca (PIMUN), through a grant from the Institute for Women in the Region of Murcia, which covers the cost of most of the investment.
The executor of the work is a Joint Venture Company based in Lorca and will last one year.
The new center will be built on the structure of an existing building and in an advanced state of deterioration in the numbers 13 and 14 Calle Cava, next to the Plaza of Spain and only a few meters from the City of Lorca, and in the service shaft city that is taking shape between the street Selgas and the former Convent of Mercy, in order to revitalize the Old Town.
These infrastructures are places that offer users the opportunity to participate in training and leisure activities and cultural programs aimed specifically at female group.
