Councilman Parks and Gardens of the City of Lorca, Angel Mecca, has announced that from next Monday, December 14, 3000 will be given away branches from pruning necessary in the mountains of the municipality, so that citizens can use them as tree Christmas, without the need for illegal pruning.

The branches may be collected at the fairgrounds in Santa Quiteria and the former headquarters of the Department of Employment (Alameda de Menchirón) in morning, from 9 to 14 hours.

Mecca pointed out that "the indiscriminate felling is banned and therefore the City Council put this solution in coordination with the Directorate General Environment of the region."
