The coordinators of the workshop were informed that there are many circumstances that can make a person dependent on the care of another.

However, the question raised now is: Who cares for the caregiver?

How can the caregiver maintain emotional health?

Who takes care of the person caring for a dependent?

How can the caregiver has the necessary welfare?

There are many people from their homes, in a silent cry and sometimes lonely, demanding attention, recognition and support.

Need to learn to care for taking care.

The caretaker, whatever their age, gender or circumstances, is carrying out a task generous, committed, patient and hard, you need a structured approach to stay afloat.

It is obvious that people such as carers, their solidarity and altruism make our society a more livable and more bearable for many, becoming witnesses of hope and worth of other instruments in favor.

The caregiver's emotional well-being requires relief, comfort, understanding and guidance.

Soothe the discomfort of a dependent person is high dose of resignation, energy and patience, but we must also take care of yourself, apply power to reaffirm and develop the self-blame.

Among the difficulties faced by the caregiver is the physical and mental need to leave the world of work, reduced hours of free time, reduced family and social relations, full time care, physical and mental self-neglect; insulation social, lack of replacement and lack of own financial resources.

One of the ways in which those who provide care can find help and relief is sharing with others who are in the same situation as the workshop will provide an opportunity to create these spaces, providing a place of rest and emotional support.

Caring for the Caregiver Workshop aims to prevent the syndrome of "burnout" which refers to a state of emotional exhaustion, physical and mental grave in which the person collapses due to mental fatigue or stress that usually occurs in people dealing with others, as with the caregiver.

Depersonalization occurs, a reduction in their personal capacities usual in situations that have taken place over a long period of time, and finally the person is in a state of inability to continue caring.

As the end of the phone of Hope to promote emotional health of individuals, it is impossible to close your eyes or not to open a space for action directed to this area particularly well-defined population, located and growing as is the carers .

From the Phone of Hope through Caring for the Caregiver Workshop wish to express our appreciation, gratitude and support to the thousands of citizens dedicated to this work.

The Committee of Experts on United Nations Volunteers organized to mark the International Year of Volunteers, consider three elements that can define volunteering (UN, 1999):

a) The activity should not be undertaken primarily for pay, although it may allow reimbursement of expenses and a token payment.
