El Huerto Ruano this weekend will host the second module of days Citizenship (29/01/2010)

The Department of Citizenship of the City of Lorca organized the Module II of the First Conference on Public Participation in Local Area, in collaboration with the Vice President for University Extension, University of Murcia, to be held at the Garden during the days Ruano 29 and 30 January.

The speaker chosen for the development of the training program is Dr. Marc Parés i Franzi, professor, Department of Geography at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Coordinator of the Research Group on Citizen Participation and Social Movements of the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP) at the same university.

Marc Parés a PhD in Environmental Science and BA in Political Science and Administration, has worked as a researcher in prestigious universities and has to his credit various publications related to citizen participation and democratic quality.

Their contributions allowed to hear cases of good practices such as Local Agenda 21, tools designed to stimulate participation of the citizenry, the development of the municipalities to balance and continuous improvement of quality of life.
