The Governing Board approved two grants to apply for the Autonomous Region for guidance on employment and self employment and hire unemployed 31 (05/02/2010)

The Municipal Government of the Autonomous Community called a subsidy for hiring unemployed 31 municipality shall carry out works to improve infrastructure in the districts and aid manage the Unit in villages.

Only in these two calls Lorca City Council requests the Regional Government more than 686,735 euros.

The Spokesman of the Government Team of the City of Lorca, Lali Ibarra, announced this morning the Local Government has given the green light to the request to the Regional Employment Service and Training of the Autonomous Region with a grant of 173,244.77 euros to continue with the Orientation Programme for Employment and Self Employment Assistance to 1,000 unemployed Lorca.

Ibarra explained that the objective of this program is complemented with individual interviews carried out by the technical advice of the Department of Employment, the Employment Service and Training Regional, Local Employment Centers for Youth and Women's City Hall, the unions and business groups. "

With this grant, the City intends to hire three insertion techniques, Administrative Assistant, who will develop proposals to provide training and job search features tailored for each of the unemployed participants.

They were also advised of how to create a company, the support available and the availability of incubators in the municipality, among other information of interest to improve their situation.

In the same line of promotion of employment, the Local Government Board has approved the application for a grant of € 513,491 to the Department of Employment of the Autonomous Region for the recruitment for eight months of 31 unemployed workers in the Employment Promotion Programme Local Public, Institutional and Non-profit organization that aims to acquire work experience and improve employability.

To aid the achievement of the Consistory is committed to providing an additional € 143,422 to the amount requested, which would mean a total investment of 655,913.52 euros.

In this sense, the projects submitted by the city of Lorca to receive regional funding is the second phase of infrastructure improvement works in the streets Jaime Campos, San Pedro Cruz, Ibanez and Mecca Lorca Uptown and in the street Pedro Egea del Barrio San Cristobal, as well as repair and maintenance of degraded public areas, walkways and green areas of the municipality.

For this, the Regional Employment Service will be responsible for selecting 24 employees of the municipality to perform activities of masonry, electrical, locksmith, carpentry, plumbing and painting, among other professions, and the City shall bear the cost of materials.

And thanks to grants is to hire two administrative assistants and two social workers to implement a support service for the management of aid dependency in the districts of Lorca.

Finally, in the case of awarding this grant the City will hire a computer technician and two foremen, the SEF also selected according to criteria of length of unemployment, if they charge service or not, ...

Lali Ibarra has concluded that "only two calls for the city of Lorca subsidies will ask the Regional Government more than 686,735 euros, representing an increase of approximately 25% of the projects submitted in 2009 for the same aid programs ".

The Councillor pointed out that these programs are part of a comprehensive program of ongoing collaboration between the city of Lorca and the Autonomous Community, which also contributes to generate the largest course offerings in the region to launch Workshop Schools and Employment and build the new business incubator in La Torrecilla, among many other collaborative programs.
